Common Questions

How does LTL Work?

What's the difference between LTL and FTL?
LTL (less-than-truckload) shipping means your freight shares space with other shipments in the same trailer. It’s ideal for smaller orders that don’t require a full truck, which can typically fit 26 pallets. It’s also more cost-effective if your freight is flexible on timing.

FTL (full truckload) shipping means your freight fills the entire trailer, or you’ve booked the whole truck for one shipment. It’s typically faster and better for large, time-sensitive, or fragile loads.

At New Sound Transportation, we specialize in both LTL and FTL refrigerated freight, so we can help you choose the option that saves you money and fits your delivery needs.
How does refrigerated LTL shipping work?
Refrigerated LTL shipping allows multiple shippers to share space in a temperature-controlled truck. This way, a shipper who doesn't need an entire 53' trailer doesn't have to pay for all of it. Each shipper pays for the space they use, and their goods are transported at the correct temperature by a professional driver.

NST will pick up the order, whether it's 1 pallet or more, and handle the entire process until that order reaches its final destination.
How much does refrigerated LTL shipping cost?
Refrigerated LTL costs depend on a number of factors like freight type, weight, distance, required temperature, number of stops, and how fast delivery is needed.

NST offers competitive pricing for any of your needs. Our skilled team is well-equipped to consolidate well in order to reduce miles and save you money on every shipment.
